Does anyone know a good filling for a yellow cake? I was thinking whipped ganache or something vanilla.
Thanks

I think just about anything can be used to fill a yellow cake. It goes with everything. My personal favorite is a chocolate filling...any kind! Chocolate and yellow cake are always so good together.

My opinion is absolutely any flavoring you like.

I use a pastry cream that I got from a DIY show by one of the Disney chefs..

you can make the "full recipe" (where you fill the cake with the pastry cream, then use the leftover pastry cream to make the buttercream), but I find that the buttercream icing made with the pastry cream is WAY too soft for decorating.

But the pastry cream recipe is delicious, easy, and takes ALL kinds of flavorings well

any filling goes, but i prefer fresh strawberries and pastrycream/custard in a yellow cake.
