I'm making bowling balls for my husband and his brother but they are very picky. He won't let me add sour cream, yogurt, applesauce or anything else like that. If I do a chocolate mix and add a box of pudding and an egg, do you think it'll be firm enough and stand up okay?

I made a baseball from the ball pan years ago and just used the pudding. I placed it on top of a sheet cake and didn't use anything but a pudding in-the-mix cake mix. It turned out just fine.

The ball cake is small enough you can use regular cake mix and it works okay, probably not plain white but like the yellow or chocolate would be fine.

I'll go with the extra egg and pudding then. I've done it once with a pound cake recipe and the top made the bottom collapse and I don't want to do that again icon_smile.gif
