I went from having no cake orders to getting 4 orders all due within next few days.. and I just got another one for an RV cake???? with a dog on it... Has anyone ever done a cake shaped like an RV? I dont figure it will be to hard... but I sure could use a few ideas. I was think since they want a full sheet cake 1/2 white & 1/2 Choclate just kinda carve it and add chocolate donuts for wheel.. they want a dog hanging out the window.. I have it pictured but dont know how to say it .. if that makes any sense at all...lol Ok send me your ideas ppl this is gonna be a fun one!!!! thumbs_up.gif

P.S. Im almost don with the laptop computer cake... little rocky but its finally coming together ... I think?!?!?!?!! icon_eek.gif If it doesnt colapse on me again! icon_surprised.gif

I found this one on caketoppers.co.uk
It's not a RV, but you could use it as an idea. I hope this works.

Since this is last minute maybe you could use one of these pics for a buttercream transfer.
http://www.fenwickgifts.com/campers/suncatchers.htm

After you do the transfer and put it on the cake, pipe a dog in a window.

Pipe a road and maybe some mountains in the background.

Or a camping scene. Trees around the RV and the RV parked next to a lake with a campfire.

Just throwing out ideas.

could you do a loaf pan RV on top of a sheet cake? It wouldn't have to be that big to get the idea. Just do a road on top of the sheet cake with grass on either side.

Well I have been up all night making 2 different cakes a mickey and this rv... It was a full sheet cake so bigger than I normally make. I had a hard time doing this, Im almost done still need to add little more border but I had no control of my hands or arms. I had a stroke about a year ago and lost some use of my body and sometimes it worse than other.. I had to call my sister to come help me and I asked her to finish it up.. Well she wrote happy birthday for me and OMG!!! icon_eek.gif It was looking half way descent but she was shall we say in a hurry and Ugh... I wrote the on the road again so you can see the difference... Im in so much pain I cant stand .. Thats why I called her .. I have to have it finished by 10 this monring .. so I thought I would sit and take a break then go lay down a bit then go back and try to finish it since I stopped my sister from doing anymore. Does it look that bad??? Remember I need to finish a few things Just cant right now...

I got a thank you letter in the mail from the gentleman who had the birhtday...OMG this has NEVER happened.. Reading it FELT SO GREAT!
Cute card and it read:

My 70th Birthday cake was the most unique I ever had. Thanks for all the work you put into it. It was Delicious! Bob

Put tears in my eyes reading something so simple! That he took the time out of his busy life to thank me and to tell me it was delicious! WOW!

Just had to share my excitement....

How thoughtful of that gentleman to send a card! I am such a huge fan of "handwritten" notes, cards ...whatever. It's becoming a lost art with the electronic age, but you simply can't beat the feeling you get when you receive a handwritten note. Good for you. It would have brought tears to my eyes too! You did a great job on the cake by the way icon_biggrin.gif

Doesn't it feel good to be appreciated? So many people these days forget to say Thank-you, It's nice to hear when someone goes the extra mile to do it.

That was so nice!! It is a lovely thing to be appreciated once in a while. And the fact that it was handwritten makes it a bit more special. I loved the cake, too. You did great!!
