Hi people,

I am still a newbie and got an idea that we could make a list of what "how to" articles we want. Maybe some of the "older" decoratos can help us or CC makes those articles (with photos ofcourse).

So I start:

- how to make fondant/marzipan people (like wedding coulpe)
- how to make different kinds of decoration with tips (others than you see in Wilton's site)
- how to make different kinds of flowers

well...lets start with these...

You know, that's a very interesting topic - the one about piping designs and shapes that are NOT Wilton-based. I am big on piping - I love it. But I had to go outside the Wilton information (and supplies) to find 00 tip to pipe tiny lace points.

I have learned one thing I can share about the tiny lace piping...cover your newly-made royal icing with a damp towel and let sit 30 minutes before you begin - and strain the thin-consistency icing through a very fine sieve - or pantyhose to remove any particles.

I would really like hearing from others who have developed a 'trick' or a special flower from piping with a tip that we can't learn from Wilton.

I hope a lot of the icing-artists (and they're here, believe me) contribute to this thread.

What a super topic! icon_smile.gif

Oh!!! The list is endless! Tops for me is gumpase flowers and figures.

It must be pretty time-consuming to add tutorials. I submitted one about 6 weeks ago on airbrushing but it hasn't appeared yet. Maybe it just wasn't any good!! icon_confused.gificon_lol.gif

There are lots of resources on line and in print for molding figures. Fire up your Google and search. (Search for polyclay resources too.)
