I am getting ready to make some pearls for a diamond impression cake I am making for next weekend.

I was wondering what you would use to make different color pearls? I mean instead of just the Super Pearl, could you use color?

Also, I have read all the instructions on making them, with no real reference to the size of tip to use for which size of pearl. I think that I will need either a 4 or a 6mm pearl, any recommendations on the size of tip to use?

Thanks!

I am not sure about the sizes but I have made ivory fondant and colored it with the pearl dust and it looks really nice. Hope this helps a little.

I'm also not sure about size (but then again size doesn't matter - icon_redface.gificon_lol.gif jk). Seriously, hopefully somebody else can help you out with that. As for color, you can always color your fondant before making the pearls. There are black pearls in nature (look more like a light gunmetal or gray color); and there are yellowed ones or almost pale gold looking, and pale blue ones and some even have the palest pink tint. That's all I can think of off the top of my head.

HTH.
