Because of a discussion in another thread, I'm posting my conversion chart that changes standard measurements into grams. (The picture gets bigger when you click on it.) I'm also putting this in my photo file.

I convert all of my favorite recipes to grams so that I can weigh the amounts rather than measure them. This is much faster, cleaner and easier. Most everything gets weighed on a piece of waxed paper. Then, all you've got to do is throw away the paper...no messy cups to clean. No tedious scraping to get the very last out of the cup. You don't have to sift flour because you now know how much a sifted quantity weighs!

For sticky, liquidy stuff, you can place whatever you're putting the liquids into - a big glass, extra measuring cup...whatever. Put the whole thing on the scale and then hit the "tare" button. Your reading will go to zero. Then, you can drizzle in that 112 grams of honey and not have to involve a measuring cup at all.

It takes a few moments to convert your recipe the first time, but it saves tons of time and cleaning later on. I'm attaching the chart as a photo here. If you have Microsoft Word and want a file you can change to suit your own needs, PM me and I'll send it to you. Hope this is helpful.

EDITED: PLEASE NOTE THAT THE ORIGINAL CHART POSTED HERE HAD SOME MAJOR TYPOS. PLUS, I'VE ADDED OTHER INGREDIENTS PEOPLE PM'D ME ABOUT. IF YOU PRINTED OFF THE FIRST CHART THROW IT AWAY AND USE THIS ONE. SORRY!!!

Thanks for sharing this info. I started the thread on finding a good scale to weigh ingredients. I am thinking that investing in a scale is really going to make life easier. Any suggestions on finding a good scale at a low price?

Ooops...didn't think about sifting the confectioner's sugar, since pretty much all the recipes I use just call for a pound or two. This is UNsifted confectioner's sugar.
