I was just in the gallery and saw a really cute idea for a cake stand. This person used hat boxes from a craft store and decoupaged them with napkins from the party. I've been on cakecentral all day, so I forget who it was. I'm so sorry. You are very creative! Anyways, my question is this...Do you have any other interesting and unique ways that you cover a cake board (other than fondant or foil) or something interesting that you use for a cake stand? I'd love to glean from your creative juices. madhatter.gif

I have used Wallpaper to cover mine...and contact paper is also good... If you really want to get creative I made one for a friends wedding cake to be put on.. (Not that she was a match match everything person or anything..ANYWAY... I took two plexiglass sheets and then I flattened flowers and ribbon decorating it on one then layed the other shett on top and glued the edges... It looked awesome under her cake.. Not to mention very sturdy! To Bad my ex has the pictures tho...lol Good luck!

I found it. It was AlamoSweets that had the decoupaged hat boxes.

That sounds cool. It would be a great idea for a square cake because square cake stands are so hard to come by.
