I have been planning on taking Wilton classes next month but I have yet to speak with anyone who knows anything about them and I'm confused. There are several places in my area that offer them so I have my choice, which is good, but because the decorators don't work there the people I've been dealing with have been little help. The last girl I spoke with said, "I don't knooooooooooow" when I asked which course they were currently offering. One store says their classes are $12.50 and another $25 (+ supplies, which I already have). Big difference. I assume that would be per course, right? Also, how long is each course? Could someone explain how this works? Thanks so much! icon_smile.gif

I am on my third class tonight for Wilton 1...it runs four weeks at two hours a night. Wilton 2 and 3 are the same. Wilton 1, I got at half off for the month of February, for $12.50, I had everything I needed for this class so I didn't need to buy the kit (which was $19.95). I bought my class kit for Wilton 2 yesterday, and there was a sticker on it for free Wilton 2 class for the month of March. Plus I used the 50% off coupon for the kit (which was originally $24.95), so for the kit AND the class, I paid $12.50. I hope they still have this deal for Class 3! This is at Michael's Craft store, BTW.

The standard cost for the wilton couse is usually $25 I think, however there is usually some kind of promotion running, either half off, or buy the kit get the class free. I think that the current March promotion is buy the kit and get the class free.

Most store employees know vrey little abut the classes. I would ask for the instructors name and number if you want more info on the class, or at least ask to speak to the manager of the store.

As far as supplies, you will need to purchase the course 1 kit for course one, it should have everything you need in it. You will also be bringing 3 pre-iced cakes throughout the course as well as making all of your icing for class. But, all you need for your first night is course 1. Once you get there your instructor will bea bale to give you all the info you need.

Yes, I paid around $20 for my Wilton I, I think they were running a $5 off special. And save, save, save those coupons! You will be able to get so many things cheap by buying with those coupons.

Hi,

You can not go wrong with the Wilton classes, I have done all three now and wish that they were longer. I know that I got all my classes at a discount. They sometime use that if you and a friend or go together as a classmate you will only pay around 14.00 ea. So keep that in mind when you sign up. I have taken my classes at Michael's and we just watched in the paper for their 40 0/0 off.

Have a lot of fun and learn a lot.

I echo the feelings about the Wilton classes. They are very thorough and teach you all of the fundamentals very well. The only possible downside is that sometimes the instructors are less than wonderful. Mine was way above average in every area. I was fortunate. Others have told horror stories. If you are in a metro area where there are several options in teachers, I'd do some homework and find out who the hot-rods are. This will be time well spent! Best to you!!!

I am taking Course I right now...they were running a special for $12.50 this month (book was included). All the little stuff you have to buy adds up, so look out for coupons. I am really enjoying it, and the cool thing is that Course II will also be $12.50 and our instructor is offering us $5.00 off of that price, so my next course will be $7.50. Can't beat that!

I highly recommend the classes. I've injoyed every minute and am really going to miss them.

Good luck!!
Angie
