I making my daughter a cinderella castle cake for her birthday. I am looking for some ideas to help decorate the outside of the cake with out using icing. I would like to buy some candies but I am at a loss for what to use. Does anyone one have ideas for me? Thanks in advance

You can roll out gumdrops and cut into flower shapes...or use small cutters on fruit roll-ups.

You might want to try looking up gingerbread houses online - they use a lot of different candies for decorations.

If you're going for pastels, Necco wafers don't taste very good, but they make great shingles or tiles. Pastel mints would be nice too.
