IMO, rolled buttercream is tastier, but mmf is SO much easier to work with. Rolled buttercream is much stretchier. If you use a nice layer of buttercream underneath the mmf, and roll your fondant as thin as possible, the fondant kind of melts into the buttercream and becomes one with it. Does that make any sense? Hope this helps. icon_smile.gif

MMF is easier. Rolled buttercream can be sticky.

When you make the MMF, don't try to add all the powdered sugar. Hold back about 1/4 so be sure you need it. as you work it, you can knead in a bit more, but it is hard to take it out if you have added too much.

Once it isn't very sticky, flatten it, wrap it tightly, and let it rest a bit, then if it is hard (and it might be) put it in the microwave for a few seconds at a time to soften it. USE care hot marshmallow burn!

I totally agree with crissyann.

Rolled fondant tastes great, but can be very temperamental. MMF is fairly easy to work with, but I am not fond of marshmellows.

I only used Marshmallow Fondant..It's taste good, handles better and keeps well. No piping bags or tips required...no grease to deal with.
How about trying all of them ? then decide which one you're comfortable with.. I am more on looks than tastes..to me icing is icing...mostly sugar..people are more interested in the cake under all that icing ..icing is just secondary.. thumbs_up.gificon_smile.gif
