I am making a cake for my MIL this weekend and have to travel 8 hours with it. I am looking for a new kind of filling that doesn't need to be refridgerated. I think the cake is going to be chocolate! Thanks!
Raspberry jam is great with chocolate. Out of the jar, stir it a bit and just spread it on, not too thick. OR, blend some jam with the icing for a creamy raspberry billing.
I'm making a cake this weekend and am going to try just stirring in some crushed oreo's to my standard buttercream. Not sure how it's gonna work, but it sounds good!
You could also add peppermint flavoring to the buttercream. That would be tastey also.
Or any other fresh fruit or jam (orange, strawberry, cherry....anything goes with chocolate! )
I'm pretty sure ganache can be left out a day. You can whip it and it makes a yummy filling!
