I am making a cake for my MIL this weekend and have to travel 8 hours with it. I am looking for a new kind of filling that doesn't need to be refridgerated. I think the cake is going to be chocolate! Thanks!

Raspberry jam is great with chocolate. Out of the jar, stir it a bit and just spread it on, not too thick. OR, blend some jam with the icing for a creamy raspberry billing.

I'm making a cake this weekend and am going to try just stirring in some crushed oreo's to my standard buttercream. Not sure how it's gonna work, but it sounds good! icon_smile.gif

You could also add peppermint flavoring to the buttercream. That would be tastey also.

Or any other fresh fruit or jam (orange, strawberry, cherry....anything goes with chocolate! icon_lol.gif )

I'm pretty sure ganache can be left out a day. You can whip it and it makes a yummy filling!
