Ok this is gonna sound dumb, but I am new to making cakes to sell. I have been making cakes forever but not to sell...and my dad has never seen any of my cakes and he wants to see what i can do...so i told him i would make him a cake, he said his favorite kind of cake is strawberry, so i asked him what he wanted on it and stuff and he said "I dont care as long as it's strawberry"...so i got to thinking lol...I am going ot make it strawberry on the inside AND on the outside, i am going to make the cake in the shape of a strawberry lol...so if any of u have made a strawberry cake, what type of pans did u use to get the shape??? thanx a bunch!! <3

I haven't made a strawberry shape but I would think you could use a heart shape pan.

I was just looking at a cake book in barnes an noble. They had a giant strawberry covered in fondant, It looked like they used a round pan and then some more cake for the tip. The seed spots were dented in with gold seeds made in fondant and the top was the classic green leaves made in fondant. The book was in the close out section. I will try to go in and see if I can find the title to the book. Hope this helps alittle. icon_smile.gif

GOOD LUCK!

SavannahJane--

I have used heart shaped pans, but look in my photos--I used the wonder mold pan and made a chocolate dipped strawberry cake (3D). It wasn't too difficult. HTH--Pam
