Hey Guys

I have two new cake pictures to share. The first cake is a 3D basketball cake with goal. I got a lot of help from this forum. Some helped with finding a picture, some helped with colors, etc. Thanks to all who helped!

The second cake is an easter egg cake w/ grass. This was a last minute cake. I received the order the day before my client needed it. I took the order b/c I wanted to increase my clientel. I did pretty good considering it was last minute.

The basketball cake will be in the 3D gallery and the easter egg will be in the holiday gallery under Easter (of course).

Enjoy!

Forgot to mention that the ball w/ goal cake is the buttermilk devil's food cake from the cake mix docter.

What cute little chicks on your egg cake! On your BB cake, I love the way you made the bottom cake a net. I've never seen that before...I think it's great!

I love the perfectcake website. The cakes are amasing. I emailed them few days ago about a cake I'm interested in making, and couldn't tell which tip was used. They emailed back with an answer. I was very happy about it. Have you seen the candy cakes they have?

That was sooo nice of them to answer you! I've never thought to email those kinds of places...I just thought they'd be too busy to help lil ole me. I'm going to remember that because after looking at the cakes, I know I'm going to have to try to make one.

I'm definitely a fan of this site now.

PureShugga

The rim was piped with Wilton tip #97. I think it is the Victorian Rose tip. I used it b/c it had a curve in the opening. So I piped the icing just below the edge of the cake. I let it sit for a few minutes then I piped the icing once more under the edge to make the rim look a little thicker. Then I piped the icing on top of the edge making sure the icing was touching the already piped icing.

I hope this makes sense! I'm not good at giving cake instructions.

I too love the site. All of the cake are simply gorgeous as well as the candy cakes. What a neat idea! Now if I can figure out how they stuck the candy to the cake. I would think if they just stuck it to the cake, when you pull it off it might pull off the icing. Maybe they used wax paper or something. Maybe I will email and ask.

LOVE THE SITE, LOADS OF IDEAS. Now I have to make the time icon_lol.gif

Great Job agentcakebaker. Looks good!

Thanks all for your wonderful comments. Now I feel I can tackle other projects larger than this one. Especially the Whimiscal Cake! icon_biggrin.gificon_lol.gif
