Tie dye would look cool and then make some 70's lingo (cool, groovy) out of fondant or candy melts and adhere to the cake
oops hit send too soon, you could also add some fashion items, bell bottom, platform shoes
How about shag "carpet" for the borders.
Exactly! In Avacado Green or that awful "gold" color from the 70's.
Tie dye is more 60's, but still a cool idea.
Thanks for all of the advice. Has anyone seen any pics in the galleries of 70s cakes? Or online anywhere? How come when you need to find things in a hurry, nothing is out there!
there are a few out there...
Here's one that could be easy... http://americandreamcakes.com/images/Birthday_kids_AB_Ty-dye_70s_cake_50.jpg
Kind of tie-dye with spray's and fondant, covered (probably) with buttercream(?).
Would 70's not be more Saturday Night Fever, Disco, Dukes of Hazzard, Starsky & Hutch, Charlies Angels, things like that? Bellbottoms, Tartan, Airplane Winged Collars on Shirts and Platform shoes.
The Saturday Night Fever Cake posted last week was pure 70's to me.
