Hello allicon_smile.gif

I just bought her new book and GAWWWWWWD I need practice. *sighs* Everytime I look through a new cake decorating book I find more techniques I did not know about. I LOVE her work and how artistic her cakes are!

Anyway I just want to say, I have been here a couple of months and usually just lurke. You have all taught me a tremendous amount about the art of decorating. You are all so talented! ( love all the pictures too!)

Thanks everyoneicon_smile.gif

Yes they are wonderful. She does have artistic talents. If i remembering reading correctly, she has a masters in some sort of art degree. Oh to dream. I cant even draw a stick figure, thank goodness for projectors.

Colette Peters cake are absolutely amazing......the things that she can do with sugar are unbelievable!!

BTW : I'm pretty new to this site as well and that's the 2nd time I've read about someone using a projector to re-creat a image on a cake.....I was telling my DH about it and he just groaned....LOL....I think dollar signs started rolling around in his head. He says for now he thinks I have enough"gadgets"!

I have heard of other women from another board getting some type of projector from Michaels. I think it was around 40 but some have gotten it with their 40% off coupon for around 11. Granted it is not a kopykake projector, but if you dont have the money to spend, I am sure it would be great.

I don't care for collette peters ever since she one the four seasons wedding cake thing. Her cake looked neither like a wedding cake, or the four seasons.

I haven't bought any of her books yet. They're pricey even on eBay. Just looking at the covers gives me an inferiority complex--LOL! I've seen her do some instructional work on one of the food channels. She had an assistant making and coloring her fondant and baking her cakes. All she had to do was enjoy decorating it--in about 5 minutes flat I might add! Now that's something to envy!

Thanks CakeConfections for the tip but the closest Micheal's is a 2 hour drive away but I'll keep it in mind for the next time I head that direction.....I wouldn't mind paying up to 20 for one.

Whenever I get a mommy moment to myself I go to Barnes and Noble, get a mocha and sit in front of the cake book section. I love looking at Collette's books and getting inspiration from them, dreaming that one day I'll be able to do something remotely close to that. It's probaly not likely to happen but it's really fun icon_razz.gif

I've been to her website. Her and her team of assistant's do a great job on the cakes and sugar objects that they do.

While it's not a cake that I would have at my wedding, I think that that cake would be VERY "at home" at a Four Seasons wedding!

The Four Seasons in Philadelphia has a very "old world"/Victorian charm to it, and that cake would fit in perfectly, IMO!

Do you know if there is a picture of this cake online? I'd like to see it.

I've never heard of Colette Peters, since I'm fairly new to cake decorating.
But I'm curious. So, I think I'll do what montanakate had done. I'll go to the booksore, one of this days, and look at her books. Does anyone know her website?
