Can anyone tell me what is the difference between pre-creamed shortening and regular shortening? I saw this at the local grocery store yesterday.

I'm assuming its like a whipped shortening? It probably looks like the shortening after its been in the mixer for a few minutes. Or maybe its shortening with butter already creamed with it? These are just guesses...I could be totally of-base.

I use "creamed" shortening, and yeah, it's just like putting "regular" shortening in the mixer for a few moments. Makes everything so much easier.

APre creamed shortening is a mixture of animal fat & vegetable. Very fluffy. Great for pie crust.
