Are you wanting to start your own mail order service, or are you wanting to start a business where customers come in and buy cookies from you? I'm sorry I didn't understand what it is you were needing help with.

I do alot of decorated sugar cookies, but not by mail order. I'm assuming that you want to start up something like the cookie bouquet companies, with online ordering? I'm in the midsts of getting my own web site up, but I'm not offering on-line ordering at first. Mine will showcase my cakes and other desserts with a phone number and an email for ordering purposes. I have also spent alot of time and energy getting my products out there so that people will know what to expect and keep ordering from me and hopefully refer other's to me. I sell my baked goods at a local farmer's market and that has generated lots of good business. I would suggest that you check into your state's laws pertaining to domestic kitchens first, then maybe try and sell your cookies locally and build a name before launching any kind of internet business. Good luck!
