Just finished a cake for tomorrow but it just doesn't grab me, any suggestions? The cake is in my photos. I don't know how to attatch it here too many pixels. It is my first tiered cake. I'm so tired I forgot to mention it's the blues clues cake.

Okay, I need to know how you did Blue! Is it a transfer??? I really love it!!

I made a few suggestions and I hope they work out. What ever you decide to do it will be just perfect! I'm still blown away at how cool Blue looks!!!

What about adding some blue to the top of the square?

Great job on your first tiered cake! It looks good - maybe a little yellow on the bottom tier, since there's yellow streamers on the top tier, it would tie in to put a few there too?

Thanks, cakemommy, yes its a fbct. Did you mean to pipe blue along the top and bottom egdes of the star lines? Yellow would be good, beachcakes, but I would have to make more buttercream, not in the right frame of mind to do it now.

I would pipe #3 tip blue dots in between the stars, like every other one. Oh oh oh!!!!! icon_surprised.gificon_surprised.gificon_surprised.gificon_surprised.gificon_surprised.gif You could put more paw prints on the top of the square cake. Make some that kind of go over the sides!!!! You know what I mean. I think that's all it needs!!!

That's cool, it will also help those pitiful corners look better. I just can't get my cakes so smooth.

I think you did an excellent job on your cake! thumbs_up.gif

Adding a few paw prints and maybe a border around your bottom square should be just right.

However...I think it looks good just the way it is too. I think we are always our own worst critic! icon_biggrin.gif

Wow! Blue looks awesome!! I thought it was an edible image!!
I think the only thing that it would need is a border around the top of the square cake. I like the idea from cakemommy of paw prints around the edges.
Can't wait to see the finished project!

Thanks all, I have slept now and my mind can function again. I have a couple of hours to think and play with it. I used the bakers buttercream recipe, it tastes good but it has to stay very cold to work with, not good for someone who needs to play around.
