I need some suggestions from ya'll on how best to organize all of my little Americolor bottles. Don't want to waste anymore time fumbling around trying to get to the color I need. icon_rolleyes.gif I have 65...mostly the .75 oz size, a few of the larger bottles; multiples of the most used colors, too. They're just all jumbled up in a little box right now & I can't seem to find the right thing to put them in so that they're easily accessible and visible. I do have about 15 Wilton jars of color, as well. So what do you guys do to keep your colors organized? Or what would you suggest? TIA! icon_smile.gif

Mine are just all standing upright in a clear plastic box to where I can look in there immediately and find the color coded top I need...

I have my Wilton colors in A little plastic caddy I picked up at the dollar store. I will take a pic tomorrow and post it.

The Wilton colors fit nice in the Wilton caddy of course. However my Americolors don't fit in the Wilton caddy color holes that are designed for Wilton colors so they are just floating in the bottom of my caddy right now.

Hubby made the small 3 drawer plastic cabinet thing for my stuff. One of the drawers is fitted with a piece of styrofoam (about 1/4" thick) and he cut circles in it to fit the botttles of coloring. I have them arranged as to shades of each color - all the pinks and reds, then the yellow, coral and oranges, greens, blues.....you get the idea. It keeps them all organized and I can get to what I need quickly. Since they fit down into the styrofoam, they don't move around and get all mixed up either.

I'm not positive on how big the americolor colors are.....but what about those racks that hold all of those little bottles of paint.....you know like for the one stroke painting......they're all in a spinning rack that holds them on an angle slightly tilted to the side so that you can see the color coded tops......I bet that would work and as far as I know.....you can hold close to 100 on that single rack and it doesn't take up a whole lot of room.

The top two drawers are for the tips and couplers. He put little wooden dowels in the styrofoam and each tip has it's own little spot too. icon_wink.gif

I think it was Squirrelly (??) that originally posted about that idea - we made our version of what she posted, and it works perfectly!

Thanks so much to all of you for those wonderful ideas!! I generally am pretty organized, but just got stumped on this one...lol. icon_rolleyes.gif I already have a few of those plastic drawer organizers...filled with general craft things at the moment, but I can relocate that stuff. And I have styrofoam on hand, too, so I'm gonna give that one a try and see how it works for me! I may still go ahead and buy that spinning rack thing as well and see which I like better...lol. Thanks again everyone!! I really do appreciate your input!! thumbs_up.gificon_smile.gificon_wink.gif

OK here's the pic of one of the containers I use to store my colours in. It's really neat and handy because of it's portability. I bought them when I took classes and needed to be able to store my colours and still be ale to transport them. I don't have a Wilton Caddy, I bought a rubbermaid briefcase- looking container that works great for most of my stuff and these little containers fit inside.
