Hhmmm...I figure if someone has to sabotage something that I do, then they must think that I can do something better than they can. What a compliment. It would suck if it happened, obviously, so I will be on the look out just in case. Nevertheless, if I fail at something in the class for whatever reason - is really going to affect whether I get customers or not? Or is the certificate going to get me more biz? Isn't it just for me to learn and try to get better at what I do? Or am I missing something?

I went through the same ordeal and decided to go to ICE and take classes with Toba Garrett. Personally I decided I wanted to learn different styles of decorating from different people to become more well rounded. If you took all the Witlon classes like I did I would try to branch out and take a class from Toba, Collette, Nick Lodge, etc wherever they are teaching that is close to you and in your price range. Good luck. I am meeting Toba on Sunday for the first time and will let you know how it goes.

For my 2 cents worth, I have taken a couple of minor classes at the Wilton School (I live about 45 minutes away), and plan on taking the next weekend Masters class. I have to agree, Sandy (the instructor) is wonderful! She takes the time to make sure everyone understands, answers any questions, and offers a lot of help.
I would say the classes are well worth the $$.

I went to the Mid Atlantic Cake Show too and watched Nicholas Lodge's demo. I loved his demo so much I decided to go take his ultimate gumpaste flower class in Atlanta! I can't wait! It is the beginning of June and is 5 days long!

Any hotel recommendations? Or logistics in that sense? It looks like I will take the Master Course at the end of July and add on the intro to sugar artistry and the intro to gumpaste. Maybe next year I can do CP and NL classes.

Am I supposed to bring things? Will they let me know? And how does one bring home all of the cakes?

When I was pricing out the Master's Class I had looked at the Extended Stay America. It was reasonably priced IMO and not too far from the school. I never ended up going because it was going to be very expensive for me (approx $3K).

Hi all...I'm absolutely sure that the prices are in Canadian dollars...its a Canadian business. Normally us canucks don't think in US-dollars...its not our currency icon_smile.gif. If a Canadian site does have decide to post prices in US funds as well, then it will have a "USD" next to it, or state that very clearly.

Hope that clears that up.
