I need to make individual fruit bouquets for a child's birthday. I'm considering using ice cream cones, filled with sponge cake to poke the sticks into..but i need something to weight the cone down so the fruit doesn't topple the whole thing over. Any ideas??

How about if you just place them in the metal Wilton cupcake holder? Then the kids can just grab one...or would they not fit?

I thought about that...but the Mom is sending these to school with the child so they need to be able to travel.

I wish I would have saved the pic. A lady on this site made the cupcakes in the ice cream cones and to transport them she flipped a box over and cut big enough holes in the bottom so that the cones would sit way down in the holes allowing for heavier tops and stability. Make sense???

When you say heavier cones do you mean putting something on the inside of the cone? If so are you baking in the cone or just pushing sponge cake in the cone? If you are just pushing sponge cake into the cone then how about jelly beans, m&m's, whoppers...... not sure how much weight that would give. hmmmmmmmmmmmm Just brain storming here. icon_biggrin.gif

The box sounds like a great idea!
