OK, I have a quick question-I have my first wedding this weekend, and I am making a square, 3-tiered stacked cake on a fountain.
It just dawned on me that I have a round cake plate that the plate connects to the fountain pillars for the cake to sit on. Do they make a plate to fit these fountains in square, or do I put it on the round ones?
I know...nice of me to think of this now icon_redface.gif

I haven't seen a square one, but I think the round one would still look pretty with the square cakes. I wouldn't worry about it. Did you see any pics in the gallery under square wedding cakes??

Above is a link to one of my cakes.....square cake on round fountain stand. This is a 12" square on the bottom and it does look better if the bottom cake is a 14". (I've done 14" but don't have a pic of that).

I've seen round cakes on square silver plateaus and square cakes on round silver plateaus in magz and on the internet.

What I would do different on the above pic is put 'something' on the sides (some bows or some rose petals) to kind of fill up the blank space.

It must have been a temporary server issue .... I just clicked on it and it worked. I tried to attach the pic here, but I haven't mastered that yet! It's on page 2 of my pics, about halfway down, entitled "Wedding Gifts Cake".

OK--got it. Now it works. This is really pretty and elegant! I see what you mean about adding bows, but it's still very lovely.
I have a question: would the square plate/pillars work with the round fountain? Or would the square plate be too large??

I don't have any square plates that large.

Thanks for your input. I was wondering the same thing about the square plates going on those pillars? I think I have seen enough pictures in the gallery of round plates with square cakes. I think it will look good-I will post pictures! Thanks for all your help!!!
