I want to finish this cake tomorrow night, so please tell me what you think quick!

This customer wants a dinosaur cake for her 2 year old's birthday. She bought the little dinosaurs from Wilton and wants me to use those. I thought I'd try to be creative, so I tried to make a caveman. I didn't spend an incredible amount of time on him (as you can probably tell), so if I don't use it, it's no big deal. First of all, he's about twice the size of the dinosaurs. Yes, I realize they're cartoon dinosaurs and it's not going to be realistic anyway, but would that look really weird? The other thing is once I finished him, a chill ran down my spine...he kind of reminds me of one of Timothy Burton's characters. Do you think he's a bit too scary/odd/whatever for the 2 year old's birthday? (And yes, he's intentionally "dirty"...I'm really not that messy a worker!)

Anyway, basically I'm wondering...would you use him or not? I have other stuff for the cake, so it's really no big deal, just thought it would be fun...now I'm just not too sure. Thanks a lot in advance.

I would say leave him out because the dinosaurs are very cutesy & the caveman doesn't fit. I think you did a good job on him though. I'm looking forward to seeing the cake when its finished.

I Love your cave man..... he's adorable! But I have to say I agree that he doesn't really go with the dinasours. Maybe if you made his clothes red or orange or something.

He does seem to have that "Tim Burton" kind of smile going on there! icon_wink.gif I think I would leave him off too.

Thanks everyone. I agree with you all, he's a bit too garish for this cake. Sorry Harry, you're out. thumbsdown.gif
