Has anyone tried both Sugarflair and Americolor, and which do they prefer?
I need to buy some new colours. I have tried Wilton red red but the deepest I get is a orangey coral colour, and have tried Sugarflair black which is pretty good.

I've never heard of Sugarflair, but Americolor is awesome! So much better than Wilton!

I've never heard of Sugarflair, either. Americolor is amazing! I stocked up on ALL of the colors available here at CC. Can't beat those prices! icon_smile.gif

Rumor has it a place called Cake Central sells Americolor...

I'm convinced that the person or persons that ok colors for Wilton are color blind. No offense meant to color blind people.

Well can you get it at a store like Michaels, or is it an online only thing? I don't like ordering online if I can avoid it.

I get Americolor at .99 for the small bottle right here on this site. My local cake decorating shop sells it for 1.39, so I jumped at these prices here. Free shipping on orders over 50 bucks, too. icon_smile.gif

A lot of the big stores only carry Wilton products. If you have a Sur La Table, or Williams Sonoma store near you, they carry other brands than wilton.

Oh great, I have a Williams Sonoma over here. I didn't know they sold things like that.

I just ordered Americolors from CC and love them! Also, absolutely love the customer service from them! If you don't already order online, this is a great place to start! They are fast and if you have any problem they are right there to fix it! Also the best prices I have seen.

Our Michael's here only carries Wilton products. One thing I should mention...with the few orders I have placed on this site, the service has been unmatchable. Quick delivery. With my first order, I was shorted one color. I emailed this site. They promptly got back with me and said they would mail the missing bottle immediately. No hassles, no questions asked. I got my missing color in five days. Ya can't beat that kind of service! icon_smile.gif

I work with Sugarflair (UK product) over 10 years and really love the colours. Due to CC I just ordered Americolors, but haven´t work with all yet. Americolors are much fluid, but still gel consistens (sp?). The red red worked good for me. One bis plus for Americolors is that you can squezze it out of the bottle, while Sugarflair comes in the same canisters as Wilton. So you have to use a toothpick or spatula to get the gel out. For coloring icing I think Americolors are the once I would prefer, but for fondant I can´t give you a preference.
