Here it is, not very good. I cannot get the icing smooth!
My friend called me Friday night and wanted a cake Saturday for her mom's birthday, she said to do whatever I wanted.
top is 6 inch chocolate fudge with srawberry/buttercream filling, covered in mmf. The bottom is a 9 inch french vanilla with strawberry/buttercream filling and covered in buttercream.
The rose is made from starburst.

critisism is welcome
Ineed all the help I can get, especiall y with smoothing the icing.
I put a dam around the top layer before filling but it buldged any way any suggestions?

Your cake was very nice. I especially like your bright colors. I haven't tried to make a Starburst rose, but it looks very cute.

As far as getting a smooth finish, I think maybe it settled more after the fondant was added. I don't put the dam right at the edge of my cakes, I move it in just a little to allow for settling.

Once you add your layer of buttercream, let it crust and then smooth really well with a Viva papertowel. You will be amazed at how good your cake will look. Then, put your fondant on. I am far from an expert at fondant. I still have a lot of issues to work out.. I think it is just a matter of working with it and the more you do, the better you'll become.

Hope this is helpful to you.

It looks like your fondant isn't thick enough. It should be 1/4" thick. Only do a thin coat of buttercream underneath.
