laugh ...Im trying to so I don't cry!! I feel like such and idiot!! I found 3 (sm, med, & lg) springform pans this weekend at a second hand store.......I spent the last 45 min scrubbing them clean.....they look brand new!!
BUT I CAN'T FIGURE THEM OUT!!!
First...I assume the bumpy side faces the bottom...right...or wrong??
Second....either way I put the bottom in when I close it shut and put water in it I see water leaking from the bottom.......this concerns me for when I put batter in them?
Are the pans no good.....or am I??
ok now I feel stupid.....my cousin just told me that these pans are for cheesecakes and stuff..............now I feel really stupid!!!
I didn't know you couldn't bake regular cakes in these either! I don't have any of these pans yet.
You can bake cakes in them. You could put a sheet of aluminum foil on the rack below the pan in case of any drips. I've used them for cakes before and haven't had any problems.
If the pans aren't water tight wrap a layer of foil around the outside and bottom of the pan.
Thank you all so much...I was sweatin it that I was stuck with 3 different size cheesecake pans!! Don't get me wrong...who doesnt love cheesecake.....but I make more cakes!!!
The bumpy side faces up-- so that when it is clamped in you see it when looking into the pan.
Like the others advised, wrap in foil and/oe line your oven. You can bake anything in them. If they are older, make sure to grease them well so your cakes don't stick.
just want you all to know I just put my first cake batter in my pans and it didnt leak!! I lined the bottom rack just in case
