Any Websites Or Good Resources For A Ribbon Template?

Still with this doll cake... (don't worry, the party is now this Sunday so this will all be over with soon, one way or another...)
There is no place to write "happy birthday" on the doll cake and I didn't want to just write directly on the cake board, so I was thinking about making a ribbon-type thing out of MMF and writing on that and then placing that on the cake board. My freehand skills are awful. I was wondering if anyone has ever done this and do you have any templates or do you just wing it?

Just cut a straight strip of fondant the length you need to fit on your board and cut the ends, cut a "v" out of it. Because it is fondant, you can shape it once you put it on the board. You can write on it with edible markers or icing or melted candy melts.

Edited to add, use a ruler or straight edge and measure the thickness and use it to cut against.
Hey! I had this same issue. I used a Wilton colored icing sheet, paper punched around the edge and ironically/luckily the angle of the dolls arms sticking out was just right to make it look like she was holding the sign/banner.
Option 2: Roll out a piece of fondant, cut it in the shape you want (square/rectangle) including a decorative edge if you want, lay a piece of wire (wider than the span between the dolls outstretched arms) 1/4" from the farthest edge, brush a narrow line of gum glue/lemon extract/vodka/water at the farthest edge, fold the fondant/gumpaste over the wire and let it dry. Write on it with foodcolor markers?
Or just print out the message using a computer or freehand on a piece of colored cardstock and hang it from doll's outstretched arms?
