Oh my gosh....I'm so nervous already! My sister's best friend is getting married July 9th, and has asked me to make her wedding cake. I know that she has already begun picking out styles, but I've yet to see them. They don't have a ton of money to spend on this wedding, and since this is my very first, I'm going to let her purchase the supplies, then I will do it for free - as a wedding gift.

I'm excited, but so nervous. This is a first for me, but her special day. I just don't want to mess it up. What makes me shake even more is the fact I will be on vacation the week before her wedding, and probably will only return about 3 days before her wedding date. Is that insane??? icon_eek.gif

I'm sure I'll be posting her pics that she likes and asking lots and lots of questions!!! icon_razz.gif

Congrats to you on your first wedding cake order!

I am sure you already know this but ...do absolutely everything you can before you go on vacation. Those last three days will go by faster then you could ever imagine.

We will all be here waiting to help you with any questions you may have!!

Good luck and don't forget to post pics. I was in a similar situation last year. My friend was getting married and needed a cheap cake so I agreed to do it for the wedding gift. The catch was they were getting married in FL and I live in KY. All I can say that was a nerve wracking 10 hours-but I made it and so did the cake. You'll do fine!!!
