Actually, that must be what's happened to all of the photos I've posted here. Someone came in and stole them all while I wasn't looking! Even the link is gone! (( Do you think my homeowners will cover this?))

I copy some of your photos and put in a folder on my computer so later down the road I can try to make it. Is that stealing

Of course when I do they never look like the picture.

Just so you know I don't like to copy photos with watermarks

omg i am laughing so hard. what a riot. when i 1st saw the title I thought oh no here we go again, who is stealing but was pleasantly surprised when I starting reading it. I too am not good enough to have anyone steal my photos, I guess I don't rate. LOL

Well, I will chime in here...and make a deal with you all..

Let's "steal" each ohter's pictures...on one condition..that we admit we are total theives and

I just checked out your pics and you do good work! I'm sure you'll be inspiring picture theft in no time at all! LOL

I look at fellow posters profiles all the time. If you make a comment on your work or a particular cake you've done I'll click on your profile and see what you've posted. I also check out what kinds of cakes etc you've saved for inspiration, same as I do myself. Once in a while I see one of my own pics saved there and it's a real nice feeling. I have gobs of members pics saved and I have a particular reason for each save. I have very little fear of anyone stealing from me here. But if anyone's cruising for their next heist I'm particularly proud of my basket weave..hint hint.

Thanks for this thread ladies and gents. It's been refreshing.

I save a lot of pictures also! even some that don't have anything to do with what I make..just coz I think they are cute!

like someone posted on another thread..I'd rather have the number of "view" than a number of comments!

but I'm still posting all the pictures I"ve "STOLEN" in my secret website..

This is funny, absolutely, but, trust me, seeing your work on someone else's website, or having your design copied without even an acknowledgement...........that sucks!

it does suck...this is why most of the stuff i do is now watermarked...

I'll tell you what makes me giggle about this whole subject.....I couldn't "copy" anyone of your cakes if I tried!! I love to use them as inspiration, and I do have some of them saved on my PC for reference sake, but could I ever do one and make it look exactly like one of yours?? LOL NOOO!! I tend to make the ideas I glean into a mix that ends up being my own.... I think we all do that in some way.

I am forever grateful for all of you and all the great talent that you all have and the inspirations you are to me in my small endevors.

I have a serious question. How do I save pics to my favorites? I see where this pic and that pic is a favorite of so many users but don't know how to do that.
I have tried looking around but can't figure it out.

AAAhhhh A serious question--ok--- After you click on a thumbnail to enlarge it. under that pic is some info. The posters name, info about the pic, and one that says Add to Favorites. Just click on it. that will put them in a file on the left hand side of the screen that says My favorite photos.

That's why on my www I have it so the pix are protected and nobody can steal them, because I have copyrighted designs I've used (and given credit to the owner of said designs) as well as my student pix -- I want them to be protected too. Besides, I'm just greedy! If someone wants more info on my cakes, then write and ask!! (who knows, in an off moment I might say yes!)

Maybe I will just copy your whole website, how's that? Now goddness help me if someone wanted one of those cakes!!!

At the bottom of a profile page you'll see View All Photos By....and that person's name. If you click on those words it'll take you to their own album. Click on the picture thumbnail pic and it'll show you pics they've saved from other members. It's a cool feature. Check it out.

CarolAnn I am confused! I wanta do this too!!! I clicked on your profile, saw the thumbnail of the pic and clicked on it --It just took me to your gallery. (Nice cakes by the way )

Now I feel bad. I could have sworn that when I've checked that out before, so many times, and clicked the thumbnail, that's my pic, I got the pics I'd saved as my favs. You'd use the arrows at the top of the page to go thru them. Sorry everyone, I wasn't lying just very wrong. Dang!
