Hi Everyone -- I need to pick your brain (better than your nose huh! Anyway...I need to color sugar and I've never done before but read somewhere that I can use food coloring to do so.
If someone can let me know that would be awesome. I also thought about using my Americolor to do this as well. Thoughts please???
Thanks again,
Dottie
I have in the past colored sugar by just putting it in a container with a lid, and putting a drop of color in with the sugar. I then shake the containe until it is all colored. There may be another way, but that's the way I do it.
thank you so much --- when you say color -- do you mean food coloring ... or the Americolor???
sorry to be full of questions

If the sugar is to be molded you can add the color to your water.
If the suger is to be used dry, just add some color to the dry sugar placed in a zip lock bag and shake the daylights out of it.
Piece of cake.
When I color sugar, I put mine is a Ziploc baggie with a couple drops of food coloring (for this I use the cheap liquid stuff) or if it's a "weird" color, I use my Wilton colors... then I just mush it up... my 5 year old loves to help do this... plus, no dishes I just toss the bags when I'm done.
Hope this helps...
Thank you all so much for your quick and helpful replies. I'm going to do this tonight so I appreciate your time. I love this site!!!!
