I heard about the roses made from Tootsie rolls and bought a bag last nite to try. I am having trouble with the petals staying upright They sort of want to droop until they come in contact with the row below. The heat from my hands keeps softening the tootsie roll making it difficult for the petal to stay where I place in before I can get it finished. How long does the tootsie roll take to harden.

Have you tried putting it in the refrigerator to quick chill them and firm up the petals between rows?

Hmmm...I didn't really have this problem. The petals moved some, but when I finished the rose I just adjusted the petals a little so they looked right again.
