Hello, I am new here and just had to take a moment to comment on the incredible talent of you people!!! My duaghter is getting married this summer and with the help of a friend who used to (many years ago) do cake decorating we are going to make her wedding cake. I decided this morning that I would see if there was such as thing as edible butterflies and dragonflies as this is going to be a garden wedding. Well this site came up and I have just spent the last couple of hours in total awe at your talents!!! I really had no idea of the things that are possible. I am not a cook/baker at all and I am jumping into this with both feet. I have no idea of the various items you are using to make these things but hope to learn some things from this site. I do have a small ckae decorating set which to be honest with you I use to create dimentional paintings as I am an artist. I promise I will buy new bags for my daughters cake LOL!!!
Anyway, I truly am in total awe of your talents and just had to stop and commend you all. I hope I will be able to learn and understand and make a wonderful cake for the occassion. Thank you so much for your inspiring photographs.

welcome to C.C. it is very addicting i know when i started here i was so happy to learn so much that i did not know about. the bad part is that i can't stop thinking about this site i'm always thinking if i missed somthing when i wasn't online or what new picture i missed that i did not see. everytime i talk to my mom or my friends and they talk about a cake i'm always "oh on cc they said this, on cc they said that, and on and on i go about cc......you will never get enough of this site it's just great...........if their was ever an award for the best internet site i will pick this site in a heart beat....

Welcome and yes you are right, I joined a week and a half ago and I can't stop looking around and enjoying all the cakes and delicate goodies everyone makes and best of all the great tips and help everyone gives. Indeed we are between great talented people!

Well I am back again already!! Hubby and I just spent some time looking at various cakes etc. He particularly liked and Elmo cake someone had posted!!! I have also brought my neighbour down to see this site, we are all just so amazed at the things you do!!! I would never have believed you could do all these things with cakes. I am just itching to give something....anything....a try!!!!
Also while searching I discovered that there is such a thing as edible ink cartridges for printers???? Oh please........can I win a lottery...or did I finding this site hahaha.
My creative juices are brimming over! I can't wait till I can touch base with my other neighbour who is going to guide me through the wedding cake process. I am amazed she no longer does cakes. I can see cake decorating becoming part of creative outlet. (Except I'm really not a great cook!)
By the way....hubby is very pleased that I may actually start baking cakes again haha

Welcome to cake central Taigen! I can't always get on here daily with my schedule, but I'm here a lot to and have learned SOOOOO much! I just did my first edible butterfly's this week on rice paper. They turned out really cool for being hand drawn. You can see them in my photos. With an artist background, you would have no trouble doing them I'm sure (I used to be an artist in my pre-kids pre-marrriage life too).

My name is Kathy R. I am loving the cake artistry I am seeing here. I one day want to be able to do all of these things or at least try them. I am fascinated and curious about so many things. I have finished the 3 courses Wilton has to offer and I am getting orders from family and friends.
