Hi,
what can I use instead of buttercream icing ( for piping) for someone who can't have butter or margarine? I thought about stabilized whipped cream but can I use it for piping flowers or borders? I need an icing for piping flowers and borders and ect... Need helppppppppppp!! icon_eek.gif

Would they be able to have articial butter flavoring? If so, you could use the Wilton all shortening recipe.

Try this buttercream recipe
It is our most popular and highest rated, butter-free icing recipe. thumbs_up.gif

To still get that buttery flavor you can add a few teaspoons of Wilton's Buter flavor

You're right Jackie -- I have made that recipe twice and been very pleased both times. I am actually going to use it this weekend also.

PS -- I didn't add any butter flavoring to the recipe

i have used whipped cream for everything .. roses, borders, leaves .. it's alot fluffier than buttercream obviously but once you get the hang of it i alost prefer to use it! i think my roses turn out better that way too (especially if you do them right after you make the icing or color it), very crisp and clean petals on them icon_biggrin.gif
