Ive tried many white / yellow cake recipes and have failed miserably at all! Yesterday I made the yellow cake recipe found here on CC but it came out too dense and dry. I followed it to a tee with no luck. I am on the search for a no fail yellow / white recipe -- does it exist?????? Im sure someone out there knows. I must tell you that I am in Canada and the flour is somewhat different that the US flour. This might be my problem -- please help. icon_cry.gificon_cry.gificon_cry.gif

There was a thread about this the other day:

make sure you're not over-mixing the batter too, keep it to a minimum until the ingredients are just mixed in, and that might help too.

I too have had difficulty in the search for a perfect white cake, because so many of the scratch ones are dry and crumbly. Did you try a doctored cake mix or scratch recipe?
