...As in a cake that bore the brunt of a wayward pillow thrown across the room by a three year old who wishes to remain anonymous. I was so upset I wanted to cry because I was REALLY working diligently on this cake, the bricks (castle) looked very nice, I was really thrilled and thought this would be my best effort to date. I sat it on the table for a few minutes and next thing I know, a pillow wipes off a lot of the side and top of the cake (the kid's got quite an arm). I was able to "salvage" it, but now it's a decrepit castle that only got one level (was supposed to be two). Oh well. Can't cry over smashed cakes now can I?
Oh no! Same thing happened to me except it was my DH and a piece of toast that took the corner and side off the thing! I did cry cause I had to drop it off in 2 hrs.
You poor thing!! I would have been inconsolable!! And my son (casue he is the only in the house who would do somehting like this) would have run for cover!!! You're a saint to look at this situation so calmly and rationally!
What horrid bad luck. I think being a cake decorator requires a real 'c'est la vie' attitude as so much goes wrong!
Yes, you can cry over smashed cake if it makes you feel better at least it still looks very nice!
