Moving a wedding cake from bakery to church reception is a big enough ulcer for any decorator or baker. But what happens when you have sugar pieces like pulled and blown or spun sugar? If you are going to use pulled and blown or spun sugar plan ahead.

1). Spun sugar does not last long when exposed to heat or moisture.Best advice is too make this at the very, very last minute. Icing on a wedding cake will melt this quickly. If you want to insure this gets noticed last minute is best.

2). Pulled and Blown as well as cast sugar pieces can fair a little better since most of the time they can be sealed in airtight containers with a dehumidifying agent placed in with them. Spun sugar can also be placed in with a dehumidifying agent as well.
