I am making a birthday cake - two tier round. Buttercream with fondant cutout shapes (fun cake like a jester cake only not topsy turvey). The colors are to be black and teal. Would you go with black buttercream and blue fondant cutouts or blue buttercream with black fondant cutouts? I can't even find a cake with these colors on it.

Thanks!
Debbie

That's what i'm leaning toward - even though it is a 30th birthday cake. I can see everyone at the party with a black or blue mouth because of all the coloring! icon_lol.gif I'd love to find pictures of cakes in these colors if anyone can find any!

Thanks!

No ~ I haven't found any yet! Thanks! I've found a lot of white with black and or blue. I can use silver but that not being an easy color I didn't want to use it as a main color. I thought i'd save the silver for his initial on top and or the wired top decorations.

I haven't found any black cakes!! Some cakes with black on them for a whimsical tilted cake but that's it.

You'll do fine. I'm sure it will be very cool!!!!!

Hi Debbie: Teal and black cakes are hard to find..I found a few pictures that had teal and black in them so I thought I would post them in case it helped.
Maybe you could do one layer black with teal accents and one layer teal with black accents.
Wish I could have been of more help...can't wait to see the cake!

edited to add: I found these on different websites & didn't mean to post them without giving credit...I'm trying to locate where they came from

Thanks! Teal and black are hard to find. I like the colors on the bottom of the silver star cake!

Thank you for your help.

If it will be two tiers and you can't decide, why don't you do one tier black with teal and one teal with black?? I would make the larger one black with teal but that is just me. Good luck
