I have made cigarellos but they are very time consuming and they don't all come out exactly the same size and are so fragile they break easily. I buy mine pre-made from a company in South San Francisco. Marque Foods. Scroll down to LU Choco pencils and a bit further for the cigarettes. You can email or call for a catalog and price list. Excellent customer service, fast shipping and they will special order for you on things like the chocolate rounds that fit the Girolle ruffler.

ShirleyW, that cake is out of this world. Thank you for sharing the link of where to order those. Do you also have a link for the Girolle ruffle maker? Thank you so much for all your help.

what a beautiful cake.

I love your cake with the ruffles. It is beautiful. I wish I had the extra money to buy that ruffle maker.

Here is a link to the Girolle and also the chocolate rounds. This price is high so I would suggest you shop around, I know I have seen it for less. Just don't get the one with the wooden base, they won't hold up as long and may splinter after using it for awhile. The chocolate rounds do enough ruffles for the top of one 10" round cake plus one 6" round.

Nati's chocolate cigarellos are quite a bit wider than the pre-made. She and I have been talking about a way of making them a bit faster and the size of the pre-made. I think we have it figured out, now it's just finding the time for one of us to try it out and see how it works.

Same company that carries the cigarellos also carry the Swiss Chocolate Roulettes to fit the La Girolle ruffler, you will have to call or email to special order them. And I am not sure the ship them during the summer months.

Sad to say that Marque Foods is no longer stocking the chocolate rounds for the La Girolle. So now the only places I know that does carry them would be eBAY, Beryl's cake supplies, and Albert Uster. Uster is very high and they have a required $175.00 minimum order.
