Hi y'all!!!
I just HAD to share icon_smile.gif One of my biggest problems in the kitchen and with Cake Decorating has been my work area icon_sad.gif I have limited counter space (very limited) and I don't like storing my cake decorating spatulas and things with my every day cookware. Soooooooo I went online last night and found myself a really neat work center!!! I think it is going to actually be larger than it looks in the pic because before I ordered it I got out the tape measure to see the size of it. The Dimensions are 52.5 inches wide x 30 inches deep x 36 inches high. I'll be so happy to have the extra cabinets, drawers and counter space!!! icon_smile.gif I'm so excited icon_biggrin.gif

I found it at www.kitchensource.com I compared prices to the same item on other sites and this site had the lowest prices. It was $329.00 with Free shipping and handling. And since I had a brand new Credit Card calling my name!!! LOL I had no choice icon_smile.gif

I found these in the Betty Crocker catalog. They even let you pick your counter top so you can have granite and pick the wood type. Its a great convenience for cake decorators and hobbyists alike. Congrats on yours!

I looked at something like this when I wanted a dedicated island just for cake decorating, but decided to make one myself. Thank God I've got some carpentry background. I designed it last March, and still haven't completed it, because or one reason or another. it just needs some sanding and a bit of paint, then I'll have something custom to my area. (As well as one fo a kind)

I just got another idea for a small fridge underneath, I wonder if mine will fit. Hmmmm....

I have this same "Island" as I call it and I love it works great for cake decorating. My DH got it for me a couple of years ago. Be warned thow when you get it and have extra space you just by more cake stuff. and soon you are out of room again. But honestly it is a great investment, and the height is great for decorating.

The height was a concern of mine since I am only 5'1". But hopefully it won't be too tall. I was thinking about a nice cushioned stool to go with it so I can sit down.

Thanks everyone!!!

What do y'all use for lighting your work center for cake decorating? My lighting in my home is very dim. I need to get something but don't know what.

Thanks,

I have a ceiling light, that hangs directly over my "Island", so I can't help you with that. I must admit that I have great lighting in my kitchen. I am only 5'4" so I am sure a nice stool would work great for you.
