Hi!! Im just getting into decorating cakes Ive always wanted to. My hubby bought me the 101 piece caddy. I have to teach my self the closest class is almost 2 hours away. And with an 11 month old, 9 year old, and 11 year old. I cant drive that far. Im doing 3 cakes in the next 3 weeks. Im looking to get some more books and maybe videos. But Im doing a Superbowl Cake this weekend. My first cake ever. I have instructions and pictures for it no problem. Then I have to do a Darth Vader cake Im ok with that one too. My problem is with the last my sons first birthday cake. I bought the Pooh holding the 1 off ebay with no instructions pan number 2105-3003. I really need instructions I ve seen pictures. I atleast need to know which tips to use. I have a mini pan of pooh to make a smash cake. I got my kit in today I cant wait to get started. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Any recommended books videos anything.

Thanks,
Melanie

Oh that looks simple! The stars are either a 14 or 16, the outline is a 2 or 3. Do all of your whote areas first. Fill in the mouth with black and pat smooth with either a finger dipped in cornstarch (powdered sugar will do in a pinch). Do the same for that foot that looks smooth. Then do your outlines sort of heavily, then fill in with stars! You can build him up in his fluffy spots (makes him look a little bit 3D) by putting stars on top of stars until you like the way it looks. Do his eyes, nose, and eyebrows last. Eyes and nose look smoothed out, brows are a simple line (don't smooth) The outline of the 1 looks like a tip 16.

All of the Wilton books have directions to show you how to do star fill-in. You might be able to find it on the Wilton site - but who knows. You don't have to ice the parts that you are going to fill in on these cakes with plain icing, just the colored icing on these parts is plenty.

I don't know if you've done stars? Just put the tip near the surface, squeeze out your star, release pressure, lift up. Keep them nice and close together!

I hope this helps you. If you need any more help just keep bumping yourself up - lots of great people on here will help! But that is a really good picture to follow, just take it slow and you'll be fine!
