I have The Wedding Cake Book and have made the Honey Maple Carrot Cake with Honey Buttercream for a neighborhood party. I was told by one person it was the best carrot cake they'd ever eaten.

I've made the lemon curd buttercream but the flavor was very strong and would use less lemon curd.

I use the Italian Meringue Buttercream, vanilla or chocolate, for all my cakes. It's my favorite.

I want to try the poppyseed cake but couldn't find poppyseeds easily.

Please let me know if you have any recommendations from this book.

Yes... I've used many of her recipes & loved them all... I use her IMBC pretty much exclusively!

I an happy she came out with this book. Her first book was primary sponge cake recipes. I haven't tried her new cake batter recipes yet. I bought her book primarily b/c of the flavor combinations. They all sound great. I do use my own vanilla, chocolate and carrot cake recipes. I don't think I would use anyothers.

Regards,
Naty

Could anyone help me find this book? I did a search for anything by this person on Amazon and came up with nothing.
Thanks!

Here name is not spelled properly. I think that is why you're having trouble.

On Amazon.com it is Dede Wilson

I have that book too, but I haven't tried any recipes yet. I'm interested to know if you like that recipe. It sounds delicious!

I made the hazelnut cake with hazelnut mousse filling (from The Wedding Cake Book) and it was great but the hazelnuts make it a little expensive.

I made the Sour Cream apple cheesecake from the Wedding Cake Book and it was delicious!!

I've also tried the white cake (good) and the sour cream chocolate cake (pretty good but it's not very moist so adding moistening syrup should help). I tried the lemon curd and really liked it but the raspberry curd had a weird taste, like too much cornstarch. The white chocolate cake was pretty good to but I would recommend using a good brand of white "chocolate" for it.

She is a very nice woman. I wrote to her to thank her for her wonderful recipes and she wrote back to me and included me a recipe from her new cookbook (Wedding Cakes you can make).
