Hi there,
I am new to this board and to cake decorating! I would like to make a jungle themed 1st bday cake for my son. I saw a picture on here of some 3D jungle animals.

Could someone please tell me how to make them? They turned out fabulous!

I made a jungle cake for a first birthday that had a 3D monkey on top holding the candle. I used the mini-bear pan from wilton. This pan can be turned into almost anything! Check out my photos to see it used for the monkey and a chick. Let me know if I can help.

Invarma,

Are you talking about royal icing animals?

I think this may be the cake you are referring to:
http://www.cakecentral.com/modules.php?name=coppermine&file=displayimage&meta=search&search=jungle&cat=0&pos=31&search=jungle

If so, the decorator said that it's hand-molded fondant.

I, too, would love to know how to do this.

Hope you gets lots of answers and maybe a tutorial...

when I make 3D figures I use fondant, look at the pics in the gallery or books, color fondant, and form it has if it were palydoh. When you look at a pic, try to break it down into shapes, then put the shaped together with water, toothpicks, or whatever. Is that as clear as muddy water? Sorry, not good at giving instructions. Good Luck!

Go under 'search' in 'galleries' put in jungle and check out last cake by Discolady. really good. also Gabriel's Jungle Cake.Put 'Gabriel's' in search.
