Carnival and Fair season will be here in a few months! Many of the local and state fairs have contests, it really is fun to go in fter judging and see what ribbons you've won! Good luck!

I'm sorry , i think you meant CONTEST.... icon_smile.gif I wil be entering in the CA State Fair Cake Show this summer myself..I did last year, and I got First Place (Blue Ribbon), Best of Show, Best of Class and Best of Division...I hope I will win again this year..it is a LOT of fun, esp. when you win..and ESP. when it's your first time entering.. People give you "dagger" looks..that's even more fun to watch while you're laughing and they frown !! icon_biggrin.gificon_lol.gificon_lol.gif

Mahal, I know what you mean about winning the first time! I never entered contests before last summer and I won a stack on blue ribbons and a few "Best in Show" too! It was almost too easy, I'm not sure if I"ll bother this summer! I'll probably do cakes, but I'm going to retire my cheesecake - which got blues in all three and best in show in 2 of those! Why bother doing it again? Dyanmaine, have a blast, you'll really get into it! Friends and family will make special trips just to see your stuff in the cases!

I just thought that if I win again this year, at least I can say I have proven myself twice, although this year I might not try so hard since I already know how to compete and who I'm competing with.. I'll do it for the fun of it, not the stress..It was a lot of stress for me last year since I didn't know what to expect. But after getting a score of 100% (no deductions) from the judges, I thought "Hey this is a piece of Cake !" icon_biggrin.gif I'll do this again... icon_lol.gificon_biggrin.gifthumbs_up.gif

I did the stress thing too, and I was so disappointed at one of the fairs because I knew when i dropped my stuff off that I'd already won. The competition just wasn't at that fair! So this year I'll probably just enter at the ones where the competition was tougher.
