I made the caramel cake w/brown sugar frosting on this site because it sounded wonderful and it is rated highly. My disaster was that the frosting seized up when I put it on the cake. I frosted a cake that was still pretty cold because I had it in the freezer. Then, my sister tried it and the same thing happened to her. Her frosting was still a little warm but her cake was room temp. The icing was a disaster!!!

Does anyone have any tips on how to make this icing a consistency to actually ice the cake and not just glob it on. It seemed to harden as it sat... kept adding whipping cream to keep in thin but that didn't work either!!!!

Help me please because this cake is AWESOME!!

I tried to make a different caramel icing, but the same thing happened to me.

Sorry that it happened to both of you. icon_sad.gif
