I'm doing my first printed edible image on a cake this week, and I'm taking the pictures to WalMart to be printed on edible paper. Is it okay to print these a day or two before I plan to use them, or is it better to wait until just an hour or so before? Does it make a difference either way? And does anyone have any tips on placing the image on the cake? Since I've never done this before, and it's for a paying customer, I need all the help you all can offer! icon_smile.gif

Thanks!
Tracy

I have an EI set up at home and at times I have printed 4 to 5 days ahead. Just keep the image in a dry place sealed in a zip lock bag so the air does not get to it. I use the gallon size bags and they fit perfect.

Yes, If you are using a crusting buttercream then you will need to mist the cake with some water so the image sets into the cake. Also I put my image in the freezer for 30 seconds to a minute before I put it on the cake. It gets stiff and comes off the paper very easy and is easy to handle that way.
