Do you know anything about MMF? If so could you help me.

My sister in England is doing a teapot cake & is trying to attach the spout & handle. What would you use to do stick this on? I told her to use icing... Thank you very much!!!!!!! ~TC~

Oh...it is a cake. I wasn't sure if it was a cake or just modeled MMF in your other post.

Depeding on the size I would either use wire or skewers to attach them to the cake.

Lisa........

The emergancy is over!!!!! Thanks to you!!! Thank you so much!! I have never made MMF, I have just read about it but never saw a post on how to stick the handles on the teapot. I didn't have time to look on the website that I saw a teapot on. The teapot she made was out of the ball pan. It looks real good. She just has to get the spout shaped right. It looks a little funny. She'll get it!! We always jump into everything we do "EYES WIDE SHUT" But after all the aggravation & mistakes the cakes turn out beautiful!!! ~TC~

...yep! I have to giggle everytime I see your initials...they are my hubby's initials and a lot of people call him TC, short for Tom Collins..and yes, there is a drink by the same name!!!

Back to the matter at hand. I have used MMF quite often! Is it safe to assume that the teapot itself is made of cake and the handle and spout will be made from MMF? If so, I don't think icing will be strong enough to suport the handle and spout. She might want to try and slide a toothpick in the MMF, beforeit dries, to help hold it. It might also be a good idea to put a little royal icing where the handle and spout are inserted into the cake, since the royal icing dries hard!

Hope I'm not too late!!

Thank you!! MrsMissey!!
She used straws to model the handles & spout on. Victoria gave her a few tips too. I figured royal icing would help so I told her to use that but she didn't have any made up. She will probably post the pic later. She's nearly done. I think she did a good job!

About TC... my sister is TC (Tammy), another friends name is TC also. I'm the only one that goes by TC. Too funny!! And Tom Collins drink is mmm good!!!
