I'm looking for a yummy Oatmeal Raisin Cookie Recipe that doesn't bake up hard and chrunchy, does anyone have a good recipe they would share?

Please and thank you!

no recipe, but I take them out early, and put them almost immediately in a container with paper towels to keep them soft and chewier (is that a word?)

I can't stand hard crunchy cookies.

k Texas,
Here is the recipe that my mom made all the time. Makes nice n gooey oatmeal cookies.
3/4 c. shortening
1 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. granulated sugar
1 egg
1/4 c. water
1 tsp vanilla
3 c oats (quick oats is ok)
1 c all purpose flour
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp baking soda
1 c. raisins
1/2 tsp cinnamon (opt.)
1/4 tsp. nutmeg (opt.)

cream together shortening, sugars, vanilla, egg and water.
add dry ingredients (except for raisins and oats)
mix well. Stir in oats and raisins
drop by spoonfuls onto greased cookie sheet. Bake at 350* for 10-15 minutes or til edges just start to turn brown. Let cool on cookie sheet for a couple minutes to firm up before putting on a rack to finish cooling.
I always loved these cookies because they were soft and chewy.
