I have this recipe for whipped icing
2c powdered sugar
2 1/2c crisco
3/4c sugar
1/2tsp salt
3tbsp meringue powder
1/2c boiling water
1tbsp vanilla flovor.
What would i do to make it chocolate wipped icing?
TIA
I'v never made it but, my guess would be to replace part of the conf. sugar with sifted cocoa.
I think 1/2 and 1/2 would be too much cocoa. I'd try 1/4 cocoa. maybe someone else might have a better idea.
OR, maybe you could substitute 1/2 cup of the crisco for 1/2 cup melted and cooled chocolate. What do you think?
All you need to do is add 1/2 cup cocoa. Then see how chocolatey it is. If you want more add 1/4 cup at a time. Don't reduce your PSugar. If it is too stiff add a little evaporated milk a little at a time to get the consistency needed.
thanks yall. i am going to get started but i will check back on the puter every once in a while to see if there are any more ideas.
thanks again
It depends on the taste you want your icing to have. It doesn't take much cocoa powder to make it chocolatey looking.
If you want a really nice taste, melt some chocolate melts milk chocolate or dark and add the melted chocolate into the icing.
