does anyone know who carries a passion fruit flavoring (I am looking to use it in a buttercream) thanks.
I looked everywhere for one this summer when I did a Toasted Pistachio cake with Passionfruit buttercream. Couldn't find an extract anywhere, but I did find a frozen fruit puree at a local South American store. I used a few thawed tablespoons full in my buttercream after adding the butter and it was perfect!
barely yellow. I didn't use enough for it to. The flavour was so intense quickly.
Funny this topic should come up again. I actually came across a Passionfruit Jam in a local grocery store the other day and I'm going to spread that between my tiers before I add the Passionfruit-flavoured buttercream next time I get this order.
The brand I found is made in Scarborough, Ontario by "Exclussif Spices & Wholesalers Ltd" in 12oz/375ml jars.
I was just looking in the Sweet Celebrations catalog and saw some Passionfruit Flavoring Compound. They say you can use it for BC, cake batter, fillings, cheesecake, mousse, whipped cream, ice cream, candy centers, etc. They have 11 flavors. The website is www.sweetc.com. They don't have a large website, but request a catalog. They have a very large selection in the catalog. They're out of Minnesota.
