Just finished my Chili Pepper cake and delivered it this afternoon. When I got to customer's house, customer asked if I put name on cake. Of course! Just as she ordered it. Well, it was also someone else's birthday and Chile's wife wanted to include her name.
Ran back home and got my bags. When I got there customer really did not want other lady's name on cake because she was giving Chile the cake as a gift. So scraped off "Chile" and replaced with peppers made out of frosting. Cake just said "Happy Birthday". Looked good--customer happy.
Customer just called (3 hours later) and daughter closed llid on cake box and squished the leaves on the top pepper. "Can I come by tomorrow morning so you can fix it?" asks customer. Told customer DH and I were going to dinner and I would come by and try to fix it.
So now DH is not happy because of this pit -stop. Oh well, that was my last cake order for the weekend!!! Don't worry, Be Happy!!!!
Good grief! You are really nice!
Its amazing what we will do that a bakery would never do! Actually tomorrow morning I am meeting someone at McDonalds to give them a cake because they don't want to try to figure out how to get to my house.
Wow, you must have the patience of Job. I hope these people realize what a treasure you are. Be careful, they will come to expect it all the time, and take advantage.
Customer did give me an additional $10.00 for my trouble. The are really nice people--I have done several cakes for her daughter. And everybody at the parties always ask "Did the Cake Lady make that cake?'
I guess when I finally get my place I may have to call it "The Cake Lady" instead of "Cakes By Design". LOL!!! I am going to have a shirt made with that on it to wear for delivery and set-ups. I now wear my Cakes By Design apron.
wow Mac! You must have the patience of a Saint! I'm glad they are compensating you for your time, and I hope they appreciate how much you have gone out of your way to help them out!
P.S. I think you should add "Customer Service Goddess" on your
t-shirt as well!
